MeloFolio Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Last updated 22 October 2026.

These terms govern MeloFolio, the website at melofolio.com and the app at melofolio.app. Please read them before you use MeloFolio. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.

1. Who we are

MeloFolio is operated by Quietly Free Ministry, 8850 NW 13th Terrace, Unit 105, Doral, Florida 33172, United States. We call ourselves "Quietly Free", "we" and "us" below. You can write to us at info [at] quietlyfree [dot] org or at the postal address above.

2. What MeloFolio is for

MeloFolio helps you learn a song, write your own words to a melody, and share songs that worship God. You bring in a recording you are free to use, or sing or play a melody yourself, and MeloFolio writes a song page from it: the melody on a staff, the chords with their diagrams, the words under the notes, in your key. You can then play along, record your own voice, print the page or export it.

MeloFolio is not a tool for copying or publishing other people's songs. Use it with music you are free to use: your own, songs in the public domain, or songs whose owners allow it.

3. Your account

You sign in with your email address. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in link private. You must be 18 or older to hold an account, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. A school or church that creates accounts for people under 18 answers for their use.

4. What you may bring in

Songs come into MeloFolio in two ways only: you upload an audio file, or you record with your microphone. MeloFolio does not fetch audio from YouTube, SoundCloud or any other site, and we do not provide or support any way to download music from such sites.

When you upload or record, you promise that you have the right to do so: the music is your own, or it is in the public domain, or its owner has allowed the use you make of it. You keep every right you have in what you bring in. You are alone responsible for it, and you will cover any claim, loss or cost that we face because something you brought in infringed someone else's rights.

5. What happens to your recording

Your recording is sent to our servers, analyzed, and then deleted. We keep the song page that the analysis produced (the beats, chords, key, melody and words as data), not the sound. No song audio is stored, served to anyone or used to train any model. A recording that fails to analyze is removed within a day.

6. Your takes

Sing it lets you record your own voice over the playback. A take you keep is stored with your account so that you can open it on any device you sign in on. Only you can play, download, rename or delete your takes. Deleting a song deletes its takes; deleting your account deletes every take.

7. Your content and ours

The song pages, words and takes you make are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, show them to you, and make the files you ask for, such as a PDF or an export.

MeloFolio itself, including its design, its name and mark, its code, its chord library and the recorded instrument and voice sounds it plays, belongs to Quietly Free or to the people who licensed them to us. The sounds used in playback are credited on the Credits page inside the app, as their licenses ask. You may use MeloFolio for your own use and for the people you sing with, and not resell it or offer it as a service to others.

8. Songbooks

From time to time we may sell songbooks inside MeloFolio: collections of songs that Quietly Free owns or has licensed, delivered as ready song pages. A songbook you buy stays in your library for as long as you have an account. The price and what the songbook contains are stated before you buy.

9. Trial, price and payment

You may try MeloFolio free for 14 days or 3 songs, whichever comes first, with an email address only and no card. The songs you make during the trial stay in your library. After the trial, new songs need a subscription.

A subscription costs $7.77 a month or $77 a year, in US dollars, charged through our payment provider. Taxes may be added where the law requires. Your subscription renews until you cancel it; you can cancel at any time, and it ends at the close of the period you have paid for. We do not refund a period already begun unless the law says otherwise.

If we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you may cancel before then.

10. What you may not do

  • Bring in music you do not have the right to use, or publish a song page or take made from someone else's copyrighted song.
  • Try to get around any technical measure that protects music on another site, or use MeloFolio as a step in doing so.
  • Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell MeloFolio, its chord library or its sounds.
  • Open more than one trial, share an account, or use the service in a way that harms it or other people.
  • Use MeloFolio for anything unlawful.

We may remove content or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you where we can.

11. Notices of infringement

If you believe that something stored in MeloFolio infringes your copyright, write to info [at] quietlyfree [dot] org or to the postal address above with: your name and contact details, a description of the work, where in MeloFolio the material is, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your signature. We act on valid notices as the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act provides, including removing the material and telling the account holder, who may send a counter-notice.

12. No promises about the result

MeloFolio listens to a recording and writes down what it hears. It can mishear a chord, a note or a word, and you can correct these on the page. The service is provided as it is, without a promise that it is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty, express or implied, including about fitness for a particular purpose.

13. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Quietly Free is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of MeloFolio. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

14. Ending

You can stop using MeloFolio and delete your account at any time. We may end or change the service with at least 30 days' notice; if we end a paid period early, we refund the part you have not used. We may close an account at once if these terms are seriously broken.

15. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we tell you at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app, and you may close your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use MeloFolio after that date means you accept the new terms.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is brought in the state or federal courts for Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring it where you live. We will always try to settle a disagreement by talking first.
